SciencePort Science Center presents Summer Science Explorers

            WOODBRIDGE — Make candy. Build a model solar house. Explore links between art and science. Discover how scientists and inventors discover new products. It’s all in the SciencePort Science Center’s Summer Science Explorers the week of Monday, July 24,-Friday, July 28.

            Find out how sugar becomes candy. Test your engineering skills as you build a model tower. The Science of Candy and Hard-hat Science are the themes of the morning session 9 a.m.-noon. The morning Science Explorers session is $110 per child or $100 if you are a SciencePort Science Center or Science Museum of Virginia member.

            Create art through science. Find out how experiments lead to products you use in everyday life. Is it Art or Is it Science? and Science by Accident are the themes of the afternoon session 1:30-4:30 p.m. The afternoon Science Explorers session is $110 per child or $100 if you are a SciencePort Science Center or Science Museum of Virginia member.

            Summer Science Explorers is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grades. The sessions are held at the EAGLES center on SciencePort Elementary campus, 751 Norwood Lane in Woodbridge. Lunchtime supervision is not provided between sessions.
